Build your own learning bundle: Choosing the right books for your child
Every child learns at their own pace. Some children may need extra support with maths or English, while others are ready for more challenging work or are beginning their preparation for the 11+ entrance exams.
AE Publications range is for children who need the extra support and children who are ready to be challenged more. This Black Friday deal means that you can tailor your own bundle that completely fits the support your child needs.
How can I support my child’s learning at home?
One of the best places to start is by thinking about what your child needs help with right now.
Ask yourself:
- Which subjects does my child find most difficult?
- Are there particular skills they need to practise?
- Do they need to build their confidence?
- Are they working comfortably at school and ready for more challenging work?
- Are they preparing for the 11+?
- Would regular practice at home help reinforce what they are learning?
Once you know what your child needs, you can choose books from our book filter to create a more personalised learning bundle.
Which educational books should I choose for my child?
Rather than simply buying lots of workbooks, think about the purpose of each book you add to your bundle.
For example, you could create:
A maths confidence bundle
Choose maths books that give your child extra practice and help them build their skills and confidence step by step. If your child needs additional support with maths, we highly recommend starting with our times tables range. A strong understanding of times tables provides an important foundation for developing wider maths skills and tackling more challenging topics. Or if you’re thinking about your child preparing for 11+ exams try our maths workbooks 1,2, and 3 (select the right Year group) which comprehensively cover the majority topics needed for success. These books will give you a good understanding how your child is progressing, take a look here
An English Skills Bundle
Bring together English resources to support areas such as comprehension, vocabulary and other key English skills. If your child is preparing for the 11+, check with the grammar school you’re applying to so you know which exam board and the subject area they will be focusing on. For example, if your child needs support developing their vocabulary and comprehension skills, you could choose Comprehension and Spelling & Vocabulary workbooks to support them here. Alternatively, if their entrance exam includes critical thinking or creative writing, we have dedicated workbooks to help develop their ideas, thinking skills and confidence in writing.
